It is with a deep sadness that we announce that our long time director and friend Jeanne O’Connor will be retiring at the end of 2019 from the Village Vocal Chords, of Harmony, Incorporated.

The Village Vocal Chords history spans 58 years and includes as unprecedented 20 gold medals and 5 silver medals in international competition. Jeanne O’Connor, who has directed the chorus to 18 of the gold medals and 3 silver medals during her 43 year history as director of the chorus, has made the decision to make Harmony, Incorporated’s, 2019 International Convention and Contest in Ohio, her last contest as the director of the Village Vocal Chords Chorus.

In addition to being a championship chorus director, she is also a well sought-after coach, a 3-time Quartet Champion and an outstanding administrator, having served Harmony, Incorporated as its International President 3 times.

We would like to thank Jeanne for the gifts of her time and talents over these past years.  Without her we would not have known the joy of music and success we have had the fortune of experiencing over our history.  Jeanne is a name that will be forever known throughout barbershop institutions for all of her contributions.  We look forward to having her as a singing member of the Village Vocal Chords during the summer and fall months and we wish her every happiness and the best life has to offer going forward.
